Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever made history on Wednesday night by setting a new WNBA record for the most assists in a single game.

The rookie guard tallied 19 assists in the Fever's game against the Dallas Wings, breaking the previous record of 18 set by Courtney Vandersloot in 2018. Clark also scored 24 points and grabbed six rebounds in the game.

Despite her outstanding performance, the Fever lost to the Wings with a final score of 101-93. This season, Clark has been making headlines.

On July 6, she became the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple-double, with 19 points, 13 assists, and 12 rebounds in a win over the New York Liberty. She is also leading the league in assists, averaging 7.8 per game, a number that's sure to rise after her latest performance.

Clark's achievements make her a strong contender for WNBA Rookie of the Year. She faces competition from Chicago Sky's Angel Reese, who set a record for consecutive double-doubles earlier this season.

With the WNBA taking a break for the All-Star Game and the 2024 Paris Olympics, Clark's record-breaking game is a memorable highlight of the season so far.
