Ryan Garcia Headed To Japan For Super RIZIN 3

Ryan Garcia is making headlines again, this time heading to Japan for the big RIZIN Fighting Federation event, Super RIZIN 3, headlined by Manny Pacquiao. Rumors are swirling that Garcia might be considering a fight on New Year's Eve in Japan.
The boxing star has had a tumultuous year. After defeating Devin Haney in April, Garcia's win was overturned when the New York State Athletic Commission found a banned substance, Ostarine, in his system. This led to a suspension until April 2025 in North America.
Initially, Garcia declared he would compete in the UFC while suspended from boxing. However, the same athletic commissions regulate both sports, preventing him from participating in mixed martial arts.

Reports now suggest Garcia plans to box in Japan, where there's no major commission to stop him. Garcia and RIZIN FF have confirmed that he will attend the Super RIZIN 3 event at the Saitama Super Arena on July 28th.
“Ryan Garcia here, my announcement is this: I’m headed to Japan,” Garcia said in a social media post shared by RIZIN FF. “I’m headed to Japan because I’m going to be at the RIZIN event ... I can’t wait to meet all my fans in Japan.”
"To all my Japanese fans in Tokyo, I’M ON MY WAY! I‘m headed to Super Rizin 3. Stay tuned @rizin_pr"

RIZIN FF, started by PRIDE president Nobuyuki Sakakibara, features a mix of MMA and kickboxing bouts. The promotion made waves in 2018 by bringing Floyd Mayweather out of retirement for an exhibition bout against kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa. Now, Manny Pacquiao is set to headline Super RIZIN 3 against Rukiya Anpo, with Ryan Garcia making an appearance.

Garcia’s attempt to bypass his suspension by fighting in Japan is risky. Fighters who have tried this in the past have faced further suspensions. Garcia will need to reapply for a license in 2025 before he can fight in North America again. His potential New Year's Eve fight could raise more questions.
