In a bloody and intense fight, Drew Dober suffered a severe cut that led to a doctor stopping the match against Jean Silva. The battle, which earned a ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus, was one of the bloodiest in recent UFC history.

On Saturday, Jean Silva defeated Drew Dober in a memorable fight. Silva had already made headlines two weeks earlier by knocking out Charles Jourdain at UFC 303. Instead of taking a break, Silva took on Dober at lightweight, filling in for Mike Davis.

The fight at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, was intense, with both fighters exchanging heavy blows. Silva almost ended the match in the second round with a series of powerful hits that caused a significant cut over Dober’s right eye.

In the third round, Silva targeted this injury, delivering a spinning elbow that left Dober's face covered in blood. Despite Dober's determination to continue, the ringside doctor had to stop the fight due to the severity of the cut.

UFC fighters quickly reacted to the injury on social media. Stephen Thompson tweeted: “Gotta stop the fight..that cut is GROSS!!!!! #UFCDenver," while Alan Jouban posted: “His eye is a mess! #UFCDenver.” Other fighters praised Silva's performance.

Belal Muhammad noted Silva's skill, especially taking the fight on short notice: “He’s a featherweight and took this short notice in altitude that guy's a problem.” Terrance McKinney added: “Silva is a problem in two weight classes #UFCDenver.”

After the fight, Silva showed respect to Dober, thanking him for the incredible match. Silva was particularly pleased to impress Dominick Cruz, a UFC legend, who praised Silva's performance. In his post-fight interview, Silva emotionally thanked Dober and expressed his admiration for him.
