Conor McGregor has dodged jail time for his dangerous driving incident in 2022. In March 2022, McGregor was arrested in Ireland for running a red light and speeding, nearly causing a crash.

His car was seized during the incident. This week, McGregor reached a deal with authorities. He received a five-month suspended sentence, meaning he won't go to jail if he pays a €5,000 fine and stays out of trouble for two years. He also got a two-year driving ban.

Charges for driving without insurance and a license were dropped after he provided the necessary documents. McGregor has a history of driving offenses. In 2018, he was banned from driving for six months and fined $1,000 for speeding.

Judge David McHugh noted McGregor's many past offenses and considered a prison sentence this time but decided on the suspended sentence after hearing from McGregor's lawyer.

McGregor last fought in UFC 264 in 2021, where he broke his leg against Dustin Poirier. He was set to return to the UFC earlier this year but had to withdraw due to a toe injury. He now aims to return to fighting by the end of the year.
