UFC President Dana White announced that Conor McGregor will not fight in 2024.
McGregor is still recovering from serious leg injuries he suffered in a fight against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. McGregor had hoped to make a comeback, and there were talks of a fight against Michael Chandler.
McGregor had hinted at a possible fight in December, but it now looks like fans will have to wait until 2025 to see him in the octagon again.
Chandler, who was excited about a possible match with McGregor, is now unsure about what's next. "I believe the Conor fight will happen, but right now, things are still being discussed," Chandler said. He added that while he respects McGregor, his own career isn't dependent on this one fight.
McGregor, now 36, was once the UFC's biggest star. He made history as the first fighter to hold championship belts in two different weight classes at the same time. During his prime, McGregor had a 15-match winning streak, including a famous 13-second knockout against José Aldo in 2015.
Overall, McGregor's record stands at 22 wins and 6 losses, with 19 of those wins coming by knockout. Fans will have to wait a bit longer to see if he can add to that record.

The two had even coached against each other in the reality show "The Ultimate Fighter." However, McGregor recently broke a toe during training, which has delayed his return.
