Dricus Du Plessis kept his middleweight title after a tough battle with Israel Adesanya at UFC 305. The fight took place at RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, and was filled with exciting moments.

The fight ended in the fourth round when Du Plessis managed to get behind Adesanya and forced him to tap out with a rear-naked choke. The time of the submission was 3:38.

Adesanya, who was fighting for the first time this year, was hoping to win back the title he lost last September. He looked sharp at the start, showing off his skills in both attack and defense.

Du Plessis used a mix of high and low kicks and also tried to use his wrestling skills, which played a big part in his win. Adesanya fought back with some strong body shots and mixed up his punches well throughout the fight.

In the second round, Du Plessis tried to take Adesanya down and almost got a choke, but Adesanya managed to escape. The two fighters went back to their feet, where Adesanya landed some good punches before Du Plessis went for a takedown just as the round ended.

The third round saw Adesanya continue to strike well, but Du Plessis landed a strong left hand that shook Adesanya. This led to some intense exchanges between the two fighters.

In the fourth round, Adesanya started strong again, but Du Plessis hit him with a left hook and took him down. Du Plessis then moved quickly to get behind Adesanya and applied the choke that ended the fight.

After the fight, both fighters showed respect for each other. Du Plessis said he didn’t care who his next opponent would be; he just wants to keep hearing the words "and still" as the champion.

There was some speculation about Adesanya’s future when he took off his gloves in the cage, but he ended his post-fight interview by saying, “I’m not f*cking leaving.”

With this win, Du Plessis remains unbeaten in the UFC with an 8-0 record and successfully defended his title for the first time. Adesanya, on the other hand, has now lost two fights in a row, the first time this has happened in his MMA career. His last win was in April 2023 when he knocked out Alex Pereira at UFC 287.
