Big3 founder Ice Cube brushed off the criticism about the Los Angeles Lakers drafting Bronny James in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Many people have been criticizing LeBron James, accusing him of using his influence to get his son on the team. Bronny was picked 55th overall, despite his modest stats at USC: 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.

Comparatively, USC's top player, Boogie Ellis, who averaged 16.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.4 steals, went undrafted.

Despite the nepotism accusations, Ice Cube defended LeBron, saying it's normal for a father to help his son. "A father should help his son to get to the next level, whether it's basketball, business, or a job," Ice Cube told Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Scoop B Radio.
Others have also defended LeBron and the Lakers.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski pointed out that nepotism is common in the NBA, from ownership to coaching. "It's unfair to criticize LeBron when nepotism is rampant in the league," Wojnarowski said during the NBA Draft.

LeBron and the Lakers seem unfazed by the criticism. However, the discussions are likely to continue until Bronny proves himself in the NBA.
