Detroit Pistons legend Isiah Thomas has responded to Anthony Edwards' recent remarks about NBA players from past generations.
Edwards, in an interview with the "Wall Street Journal", claimed that Michael Jordan was the only skilled player from earlier eras.
In the interview, Edwards admitted he didn't watch much of the NBA from the past, so he can't speak directly about how good the players were back then. "They say it was tougher back then than it is now, but I don't think anybody had skill back then. [Michael Jordan] was the only one that really had skill," Edwards said. He added that this is why people were amazed by Kobe Bryant, but now, in his opinion, everyone has skill.

Edwards, who was born in 2001, may not have seen many highlights from players like Larry Bird or Magic Johnson while growing up, as Michael Jordan continues to be a huge figure in the NBA even years after retiring.
Isiah Thomas and his Detroit Pistons were one of the best teams in NBA history, but their achievements are sometimes overlooked, as they played between the Showtime Lakers era and the rise of Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls.

While there have always been highly skilled players like Thomas, Johnson, Bird, and Hakeem Olajuwon, many believe that the overall talent level in the NBA is higher now than ever before. This could be why there aren't as many dominant teams today—there are simply more great players.
Given Thomas' history of holding grudges, it's unlikely he'll be seen supporting Edwards at any Minnesota Timberwolves games soon.
