Israel Adesanya felt confident in his fight against Dricus du Plessis at UFC 305, but a series of punches from du Plessis led to a moment that ended the fight in the fourth round.

Adesanya believes he wasn't really hurt by du Plessis' strikes just before the fight-ending rear-naked choke.

He admitted he made a mistake that gave du Plessis the opening he needed. "I have to watch it again because I don’t think I was rocked," Adesanya said after the fight. "I think I slipped, and then he caught me as I was trying to get away. I can’t remember how he took me down because it all happened so fast."

Despite the loss, Adesanya was proud of his performance. He felt that he had shown improvements and gave everything he had in the fight, even though it didn't go his way in the end.
