Angela Carini, an Italian boxer, stopped her Olympic fight against Algeria's Imane Khelif after just 46 seconds. Carini now wants to apologize to Khelif for how she acted after the match.
Khelif was cleared to compete in women's boxing in Paris, despite being disqualified from last year's Women's World Championships. Her participation has caused controversy, but the International Olympic Committee (IOC) supports her.
Carini, also 25, told an Italian newspaper that she regrets not shaking hands with Khelif after the fight. "I was angry because my Olympics were over," she said. "I want to apologize to her and everyone else. If I see her again, I will hug her."

During the fight, Carini took a punch to the face and went to her corner for her coach to adjust her headgear. After briefly continuing, she stopped the fight. Carini later explained to BBC Sport that she needed to protect herself.
The International Boxing Association (IBA) said Khelif did not meet the eligibility criteria for women's competition last year. However, the IOC recognizes Khelif as a female athlete.
The IBA president offered Carini $100,000, which is the prize money for gold medalists, to be shared with her trainer and federation.
