Noah Lyles, Team USA’s track star, became the fastest man in the world after winning the gold medal in the 100m race at the 2024 Paris Olympics. You might think all Americans were cheering for him, but that wasn’t the case.

On a recent episode of his podcast, "Roommates Show," NBA player Josh Hart revealed that he was rooting for Team USA in most events, but not for Lyles. "I really wanted him [Lyles] to lose," Hart said, explaining that he and other NBA fans were upset about comments Lyles made in 2023.

Lyles had said that NBA teams shouldn't call themselves "world champions" since they only compete in the U.S., while Olympians face competitors from around the world.

This upset many NBA players and fans, including stars like Kevin Durant, who responded on social media.

Despite this, after winning the gold, Lyles admitted that Team USA in basketball could be considered world champions since they beat teams from all over the world at the Olympics.

In the end, both the basketball team and Lyles walked away as world champions, and that’s something everyone can agree on.
