Noah Lyles’ mother, Keisha Caine Bishop, expressed her anger after her son collapsed at the Paris Olympics. Lyles, a track star, had just finished the men’s 200-meter race on Thursday when he fell to the ground.
Despite feeling sick, he still managed to win a bronze medal. Bishop shared on Instagram that she begged stadium security to get a doctor, but they didn’t respond.
She described it as one of the scariest moments of her life, saying she felt helpless as security ignored her pleas.

However, she thanked the NBC Olympics team for their help and kindness during the incident, as well as the USA Track & Field staff who supported her.
Lyles had tested positive for COVID-19 before the race but still competed. Despite his illness, he also won a gold medal in the 100-meter race earlier in the week. After the 200-meter race, he said his biggest fear was his asthma getting worse, but he managed to avoid any serious issues.
Lyles has since tested negative for COVID-19 and is now focusing on the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo next month.
