Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles and NFL star Tyreek Hill might face off in a race, but there’s a catch.

Lyles is willing to race Hill, but only if it’s a 100-meter sprint, run on a proper track, and with a big sponsorship deal.

The challenge started when Hill claimed he could beat Lyles in a 50-yard dash. On Wednesday, Lyles responded, saying he’s open to the idea but has his own conditions.

He wants the race to be serious, not just a fun stunt. “If someone sponsors it, and we’re racing for millions on a track, then sure, we can race,” Lyles told NBC News.

Lyles, the current Olympic 100-meter champion, isn’t interested in a short 50-yard race. “I’m not here for gimmicks,” he said. “If you want to challenge the world’s fastest man, you have to do it in his event.”

Hill, who usually runs shorter distances in football, had suggested a 50-yard race. But Lyles made it clear that he would only compete in a 100-meter sprint. Whether the race will happen depends on if both athletes can agree on the distance and conditions.
