Noah Lyles, who won gold in the 100M earlier this week, aimed to break the world record in the 200M at the Paris Olympics. However, things didn't go as planned.
Lyles entered the race as a strong favorite, having won the 200M world title three times before. But after a rough start, he finished with a bronze medal.
He crossed the finish line at 19.70 seconds, falling short of gold medalist Letsile Tebogo from Botswana and his own personal best.

After the race, Lyles needed medical attention and was seen wearing a mask. It was later revealed that he had tested positive for COVID-19 two days earlier.
Lyles, who is also asthmatic, learned about the positive result from his concerned mother. His reaction time in the race was the slowest among the eight competitors.
Despite this, Lyles doubled his Olympic medal count to three. He now faces uncertainty regarding his participation in the men's 4x100 meter relay due to his COVID-19 diagnosis.
