Stephen A. Smith, a well-known sports commentator, believes that Steph Curry should have been named the
MVP of the 2024 Paris Olympics instead of LeBron James.

Curry's incredible performance in the final games, especially his three-point shots that helped Team USA win against France in the gold-medal game, stood out to Smith. On his show, Smith said, "Steph Curry showed up when it mattered the most. He was spectacular."

Although LeBron James ended up winning the MVP award, Smith thinks Curry's heroics, particularly in the semifinal game against Serbia where he scored 36 points, deserved more recognition. Curry led Team USA with an average of 14.8 points per game during the tournament, with a 50% shooting accuracy and 47.8% from three-point range.

LeBron, on the other hand, had a great tournament as well. He was consistent throughout, scoring an average of 14.2 points per game, shooting 66% from the field, and averaging 8.5 assists. He even had a triple-double in the semifinal game and a double-double in the gold-medal game.

While Smith thinks Curry deserved the MVP, he still praised LeBron, saying, "LeBron James is just phenomenal. He was a great leader and played amazingly well throughout the Olympics."

In the end, Smith respects LeBron's achievement but feels that Curry's standout moments should have earned him the MVP title.
