The USA Men's Basketball team claimed their fifth straight gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, beating France 98-87 in a thrilling game on Saturday. Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant led the charge, with Curry's late-game heroics securing the win.

The game, held at Bercy Arena, was tense, with a loud pro-France crowd. However, Team USA never fell behind in the second half, thanks to Curry's explosive performance. Curry scored 24 points, including four 3-pointers in just over two minutes during the fourth quarter, putting the game out of reach for France.

"I impressed myself with that one," Curry said after the game.

France's Victor Wembanyama tried to keep his team in the fight, scoring 26 points in the biggest game of his young career. Guerschon Yabusele added 20 points, including a highlight dunk over LeBron James.

For Stephen Curry, this gold medal was the missing piece in an already legendary career. With four NBA championships, two MVPs, and countless other accolades, the Olympic gold was the last box to check.

"It's special," Curry said. "These last five weeks with this group have been all about winning gold."

After a slow start in the final, Curry found his rhythm, hitting 8 of 10 from beyond the arc after missing his first three attempts.

LeBron James was named the tournament's MVP, his third Olympic gold adding to his impressive career. While Curry shined in the final, LeBron was the team's leader throughout the tournament, averaging 14.2 points, 8.5 assists, and 6.8 rebounds.

Kevin Durant earned his fourth Olympic gold medal, the most in men's basketball history. Durant, the all-time leading scorer in U.S. Olympic history, continued to build his legacy with another strong performance in the final.

Despite the loss, Victor Wembanyama showed why he's considered one of the brightest young stars in basketball. The 7'4" sensation scored 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds, earning a spot on the Olympic All-Star team alongside LeBron, Curry, and others.

Wembanyama's performance signals a bright future, not just for France, but also for his NBA team, the San Antonio Spurs.
