Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes Won't Endorse Presidential Candidates

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback
Patrick Mahomes announced on Wednesday that he will not endorse either Donald Trump or Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election. His decision comes even as Trump continues to mention Mahomes' wife, Brittany, as a supporter of his campaign.

Mahomes explained that he prefers not to use his platform to back any candidate. Instead, he wants to encourage people to register to vote and make their own informed choices. “I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote. It’s to inform people to do their own research and then make the best decision for them and their family,” he said.

This statement follows an endorsement of Harris by singer
Taylor Swift, who is dating Mahomes' teammate Travis Kelce. Trump responded by praising Brittany Mahomes and implying she supported him, which she denied.

Mahomes chose not to address Trump's comments directly but focused on the importance of community and treating others well. He emphasized his commitment to supporting community initiatives and encouraging positive behavior.

Swift’s endorsement of Harris, posted on Instagram, has received significant attention and may influence younger voters. Despite this, Mahomes remains focused on fostering unity and supporting positive interactions among people from diverse backgrounds.
