David Corenswet, who was chosen to be the new Superman in June 2023, went through a big physical change to prepare for the role. On the "Manly Things (Sort Of)" podcast, Corenswet shared that at one point, he weighed as much as 238 pounds. He joked that none of his pants fit anymore.

The actor, known for his role in Hollywood, said it was hard to keep the weight during filming. He admitted it didn’t feel great at first because his body wasn’t used to all the extra weight. He even joked about needing a size 2XL sweatshirt during a table read for the movie.

Corenswet said he started filming at around 228-230 pounds and wanted to use the opportunity to see how much weight he could gain.
