Boxer Devin Haney has filed a lawsuit against Ryan Garcia, accusing him of battery, fraud, and unjust enrichment. This comes after their controversial fight on April 20, where Garcia won but later faced issues due to missing weight and testing positive for a banned substance.
Garcia’s win was overturned, and the fight was declared a no-contest, restoring Haney's undefeated record at 31-0. Now, Haney’s team is taking legal action, claiming Garcia caused harm to Haney’s career and reputation.
The lawsuit argues that Garcia broke the rules by testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs and missing weight. Haney's lawyer said that Haney would not have fought if he knew Garcia was using banned substances.

Garcia has already been fined $1.1 million and suspended for a year by the New York State Athletic Commission. He also had to pay Haney $600,000 after failing to make weight for the fight.
Garcia responded to the lawsuit by mocking Haney on Instagram, making light of the situation.
The lawsuit seeks to recover damages and a portion of the fight’s profits.
