Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is on the path to becoming the world's first trillionaire. His businesses, which include electric cars, space rockets, and even brain implants, have made him the richest person in the world with a fortune of nearly $250 billion.

Experts from Informa Connect Academy predict Musk could hit the trillion-dollar mark by 2027. His wealth has been growing by about 110% each year, making him the top candidate to reach this milestone. However, others like Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Indian businessman Gautam Adani could also become trillionaires by 2028.

Tesla, Musk's biggest asset, is valued at $710 billion. Musk owns about 13% of the company, a stake worth about $93 billion. He also has 303 million stock options. If Tesla continues to grow, it could push his wealth beyond $1 trillion.

Musk's other major companies include SpaceX, valued at $210 billion, and Neuralink, which focuses on brain implants. He also owns the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), which has faced controversy under his leadership.

While Musk's fortune continues to rise, challenges remain. Tesla faces tough competition, especially from Chinese rivals, and has had setbacks like recalls and falling stock prices. Still, Musk has managed to bounce back from tough times in the past, including nearly going bankrupt in 2008.

Whether Musk becomes the world’s first trillionaire will depend on the success of his companies, especially Tesla.
