The Los Angeles Lakers had a special moment during their media day with LeBron James and his son, Bronny. Bronny, the newly drafted guard who will wear No. 9 this season, shared a light-hearted moment with his dad, the NBA's all-time leading scorer.

When asked how he would call for the ball from LeBron during practice, Bronny said, “It’s probably gonna be ‘Bron.’ Bron would be the easiest.” The two laughed and smiled together, highlighting their unique situation as they prepare to become the first father-son duo to play together on an NBA team.

LeBron expressed his happiness about sharing this experience with Bronny, saying it brings him “pure joy.” He added, “I’m just super proud of him to be able to get to this point. He’s a man, and he’s ready to go.”

Nineteen-year-old Bronny, whose jersey says “James Jr.,” was picked 55th overall by the Lakers in the 2024 NBA draft. The two even joked about a practice incident where Bronny's strong defense made LeBron step out of bounds.

Bronny laughed, saying, “I looked at the film, and he did step out of bounds, but I’m not going to go there right now.” LeBron playfully replied, “What do you mean you’re not going to go there? You just went there!”

LeBron reflected on Bronny's journey and how proud he is to see his son achieve his goals. He recalled a moment when Bronny was just five years old, playing youth basketball. “He grabbed the rebound and drove coast to coast... I looked over at his mom, and I was like, ‘Oh, he’s special,’” LeBron said.

The Lakers will face the Minnesota Timberwolves in a preseason game on Friday and will start their regular season on October 22 against the same team.
