LeBron James Thinks He Could Win Olympic Medals In Other Sports

LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar, recently made a surprising statement. On his show "The Shop," LeBron said he believes he could win Olympic medals in sports other than basketball. Fresh off winning his third gold medal with Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics, LeBron suggested that with enough time to prepare, he could compete in the high jump or long jump.

When asked if he could medal in another sport, LeBron responded confidently, "Maybe the long jump. I think I could do the long jump, maybe, or the high jump if you give me some time. I need about six months, eight months, or whatever, preparation to get to that."

However, with LeBron turning 43 by the time of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, and most elite track and field athletes being much younger, it seems unlikely that he’ll compete in these events.

Despite this, LeBron, along with Lakers teammate Anthony Davis, led Team USA to its fifth consecutive gold medal in Paris. LeBron was named Tournament MVP, averaging 14.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 10.2 assists per game.

As the new NBA season approaches, the Lakers haven't made many changes to their roster. They’ve only added two new players, Dalton Knecht and Bronny James, their recent draft picks. Some fans are concerned that the team hasn’t done enough to stay competitive, especially needing a strong defensive player and a 3-and-D wing.

With LeBron and Davis on the team, making the playoffs seems likely, even if they have to go through the Play-In tournament. However, winning another championship may be challenging unless the team can develop more chemistry and improve from within.
