Over 400 Economists And Ex-Officials Support Kamala Harris

More than 400 economists and former U.S. officials are backing Vice President Kamala Harris and her economic plans, according to a document shared with CNN. This endorsement comes as Harris works to close the gap between her and former President Donald Trump, who many Americans trust more on the economy.

Most of these supporters worked under Democratic administrations, such as Biden, Obama, and Clinton. They include well-known names like former Biden advisor Brian Deese and ex-Labor Secretary Marty Walsh. They argue that Harris offers a better path for the economy than Trump, promoting fairness and opportunity.

The endorsement highlights a key choice in the upcoming election: whether to continue Trump's policies or support Harris’s vision for a more inclusive economy. Trump, on the other hand, argues that his past success, especially before COVID-19, shows he can best handle the U.S. economy if re-elected.

This week, both candidates will give speeches about their economic plans. Trump will focus on taxes and energy in Georgia, while Harris will talk about her "opportunity economy" plan in Pennsylvania.

Even though Trump has many wealthy business leaders on his side, a recent straw poll of top CEOs showed that 80% believe Harris will win the election.
