Patrick Mahomes Shares Career Advice From Tom Brady

Patrick Mahomes recently revealed the best advice he ever received, and it came from legendary quarterback Tom Brady. Mahomes has carried these words with him since his first playoff loss in 2018.

In Mahomes' first year as a starter, he had a great season but lost to Brady and the New England Patriots in the playoffs. The Patriots went on to the Super Bowl, and Mahomes used the loss as motivation for his future success. But it wasn’t just the loss that stuck with him—so did Brady’s advice.

Brady told Mahomes, “Keep doing what you’re doing.” These simple words had a big impact on Mahomes. "For him to say that—I’d never met him before—that was huge," Mahomes told Sports Illustrated.

Brady’s advice turned out to be spot on. Since then, Mahomes has won three Super Bowls and appeared in four of the last five. This season, he’s hoping to do something even Brady’s Patriots couldn’t—win three Super Bowls in a row.

While Mahomes still has a few more rings to go to catch up to Brady, if he keeps playing the way he is, it’s only a matter of time before he matches the man many call the greatest quarterback ever.
