Klay Thompson, now a guard for the Dallas Mavericks, is starting his first NBA season without the Golden State Warriors.

Thompson was drafted by the Warriors in 2011 and spent 11 years with the team, winning four championships. He is considered a Warriors legend.

Reports say Thompson was upset with how the Warriors handled his free agency, which may have led to his decision to leave. Despite this, Thompson still has a strong bond with his former teammate, Steph Curry.

In an interview with People, Curry admitted that losing Thompson will be hard for the Warriors, but he is ready for the challenge. Curry also mentioned that many people are doubting the Warriors this season, and he’s using that as motivation.

"I love that people don’t think we can keep up with other teams," Curry said. "I’m excited to prove them wrong."
