Lady Gaga is back with a new album, Harlequin, where she’s putting her own twist on classic songs, inspired by her role as Harley Quinn. This is the first time she’s making a standards album without Tony Bennett, after their successful collaborations on Cheek to Cheek and Love for Sale.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Gaga talked about how she’s mixing things up, saying her character influenced how she approached the music this time.

But how would Tony have reacted to this change? Gaga mentioned that Bennett wasn’t a big fan of rock music, but he would have still supported her. “He would’ve said, ‘Wow, that’s amazing,’” she said, even if it wasn’t his style.

Gaga also described Bennett as a kind and open-minded person who never questioned her choices, whether it was her outfit, singing style, or bold stage performances. While he may have had thoughts, Bennett was always respectful and supportive.

In the end, Tony Bennett was a man who knew how to be kind, especially to Lady Gaga.
