The WNBA is facing criticism after making a surprising decision about Caitlin Clark ahead of the playoffs. The Indiana Fever, Clark's team, will play against the Connecticut Sun in the first round on Sunday.

Connecticut, ranked third, will host Indiana, who is ranked sixth, at Mohegan Sun Arena. Caitlin Clark has been a major reason for the WNBA's growth in viewership and attendance.

Many fans see her as the face of this surge in popularity. However, the WNBA's official account on X (formerly Twitter) surprised fans by not featuring Clark in its postseason graphic. Instead, they chose Kelsey Mitchell, another star player for the Fever, to represent the team.

While Mitchell is a great player, many fans were confused and upset that Clark was left out. Some think the WNBA might be jealous of Clark's success, while others believe the league just doesn't understand how to market its stars.

One fan wrote, "Clark is the reason for the rise in attendance and yet she's left off? Bravo." Another commented, "This shows that the WNBA is jealous of Clark’s success."

The WNBA's decision has sparked a lot of backlash, with fans expecting to see Clark on the graphic after all she did for the league this season. The game between the Fever and Sun will tip off at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday.
