LINKIN PARK Criticized By Fans For Using Backing Tracks at Recent Show

Image
Photo: Emily Armstrong (Instagram) LINKIN PARK is facing some backlash from fans after a recent performance in South Korea on September 28. Fan-recorded videos show that during certain songs, it seems like backing vocal tracks were being used.  Emily Armstrong, the band's new singer, pulled her microphone away from her face twice, but her voice could still be heard faintly. This happened during the band's new songs “The Emptiness Machine” and “Heavy Is the Crown.” In the final chorus of “Heavy Is the Crown,” Armstrong held the mic out to the crowd, but her voice continued to sing the chorus. Similarly, during “The Emptiness Machine,” Armstrong stopped singing for a moment, but the vocals kept playing. Photo: Mike Shinoda, Emily Armstrong (Instagram) Despite the criticism, LINKIN PARK's "From Zero" world tour is doing well. However, a representative for the Toronto rapper has confirmed that these rumors are false. The buzz started over the weekend (September 28-29) when music manager Wack 100 claimed on the Clubhouse app that Drake had blocked Kendrick from performing the song and was trying to get the NFL involved to stop him.  But Drake's team has now cleared the air, stating there was never any plan or intention to send such a letter. Photo: Drake (Instagram) Earlier this year, Drake did face legal trouble when Tupac’s estate sent him a cease-and-desist letter for using AI to replicate Tupac’s vocals on a track. Photo: Mariah Carey (Instagram) Mariah Carey is set to face her brother, Morgan Carey, in court, following the deaths of their mother, Patricia, and sister, Alison, who passed away on the same day in August. Morgan is continuing a defamation lawsuit he filed in 2021, claiming Mariah’s memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey , damaged his reputation. The court has ordered both siblings to give depositions by January 31, 2025. This legal action stems from Morgan's claims that Mariah made false statements about him in her book, calling him her "ex-brother" and accusing him of causing harm to her.  He is seeking a court decision to clear his name and undo the damage he says the book caused. Mariah has had a strained relationship with her family for years.  Photo: Mariah Carey (Instagram) Her sister, Alison, also filed a lawsuit in 2021, accusing Mariah of causing emotional distress through the memoir.
