Klay Thompson recently shared how playing with the Golden State Warriors differs from what he expects with his new team, the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks made a big move this offseason by trading for Thompson to boost their lineup. After falling short in the NBA Finals, Dallas brought in Thompson to add more versatility to their offense.

At the Mavericks' media day, Thompson talked about playing alongside star player Luka Doncic. He explained how the Mavericks’ offensive style will be different from what he was used to with the Warriors. "In Golden State, it was more about movement and passing. Here, Luka is amazing in the pick and roll, maybe the best I’ve ever seen," Thompson said. "I’ll get a lot of open shots because Luka draws so much attention from defenders."

Thompson is excited to see how his skills will fit in Dallas’ system. "Playing with Luka will open up a lot of chances for me," he added. However, Thompson knows he will have to adjust. "Luka’s the star here, and I’m ready to help make his job easier by taking some pressure off him."

Meanwhile, Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr reflected on Thompson leaving the team. In an interview, Kerr said, "We all wanted Klay to stay, but I think he knew it was time to move on." Kerr supported Thompson's decision and believes it will be good for his career. "Sometimes a change is just what you need, especially later in your career," Kerr said.

As Thompson begins his new journey with the Mavericks, fans are eager to see how he works with Luka Doncic in the team’s offense.
