Madonna’s Grammy-Winning Album Makes a Comeback While Another Fades

Last week in the U.K., Madonna had two albums on different music charts. This week, she’s still holding two spots, but one of her albums has made a surprising return, while another has disappeared.

Her album Confessions on a Dance Floor is back on the Official Dance Albums chart at No. 39. This album, which won a Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album more than 10 years ago, just made it into the top 40.

Confessions on a Dance Floor is Madonna’s only album to reach No. 1 on the Official Dance Albums chart. Though most of her music is labeled as pop or R&B, four of her albums have made it to this dance chart, with three of them related to the Confessions era.

At the same time, her greatest hits collection, The Immaculate Collection, is rising on the Official Album Downloads chart. It jumped from No. 100 to No. 72, a big leap after almost not making the chart at all last week.

On the other hand, her newer release, Finally Enough Love, has fallen off the Official Albums Streaming chart. Last week, it was at No. 98, but now it’s gone, at least for now.

While her albums continue to shuffle around the charts, one of her classic singles, “Like a Prayer,” remains popular. The song is featured in the movie Deadpool & Wolverine, which is helping it stay on three different charts.
