NBA general managers have ranked Jayson Tatum as the best small forward in the league, putting him ahead of LeBron James. This comes after Tatum played a smaller role for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where stars like LeBron, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant took the lead.

In a recent poll, 14 out of 30 GMs voted for Tatum as the top small forward, giving him 47% of the vote. Meanwhile, LeBron, Luka Doncic, and Kevin Durant tied for second place with just 17% of the votes each. This shows that many GMs view Tatum as the best at his position, even though players on Team USA named LeBron as the best player on the team.

Jayson Tatum had a strong regular season last year, shooting 47.1% from the field and 37.6% from three-point range. But in the playoffs, his shooting dropped to 42.7% from the field and just 28.3% from three, his lowest playoff percentage yet.

To improve, Tatum worked with his trainer, Drew Hanlen, during the offseason to make some changes to his jump shot. Tatum explained that they focused on mechanics like leaning forward, keeping his shoulder steady, and having a quicker release.

Tatum and the Celtics are starting the 2024-25 NBA season as favorites to win the championship again. If his new shooting form helps him be more efficient, it could boost the Celtics' chances of winning back-to-back titles.
