Tyson Fury Chooses Cash Over Glory In High-Stakes Usyk Rematch

Tyson Fury has revealed that his main focus is on money, not titles or legacy, as he prepares for a rematch with
Oleksandr Usyk. Fury, nicknamed the "Gypsy King," said he has “£200 million in the bank” and admitted he’s motivated by making “as much money as I can until the wheels fall off.”

Usyk defeated Fury in a close decision earlier this year, making Usyk the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999. But despite the loss, Fury insists he’s not interested in titles. His goal, he said, is simply to keep making money through more fights.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Fury explained that he fights for money, not fame or titles. “I’ve had 40 professional fights, and I was in every single one of them for the money,” Fury stated. “I don’t come to these places thinking, ‘I’m on TV, I’m famous.’ I’m thinking, ‘How much can I get?’”

The two fighters recently appeared at a press conference for their rematch, scheduled for December 21. Usyk made a splash by arriving dressed as the video game character Agent 47, complete with a suit, tie, and briefcase.

Reflecting on his loss, Fury said it wasn't his time to win. "It wasn’t my time to win, or else the almighty would have given me the victory,” he said. Fury promised a different outcome in their next fight, saying he’s “envisioning something similar” to past rematches, where he’s knocked out his opponent the second time around.

As the rematch draws near, Fury is clear that his aim is financial security, not adding titles to his name. Source: Mirror
