Conor McGregor Responds To Dana White’s Big Fight Claims

Conor McGregor thinks UFC boss Dana White might be overhyping things. After UFC 309, White called a possible 2025 heavyweight fight between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall the biggest in UFC history.
This claim is bold, especially since McGregor holds the record for the biggest UFC fight. His 2018 clash with Khabib Nurmagomedov sold 2.4 million pay-per-views.
During the UFC 309 post-fight press conference, White praised Jon Jones and hinted at a fight with Tom Aspinall, who has been eager to face Jones all year. Even though Jones has shown little interest, White believes the fight will happen and break records.

“It would be the biggest heavyweight fight in UFC history,” White said. “And probably the biggest fight we’ve ever done.”
A clip of White’s comments spread online, and McGregor reacted briefly, posting “Now, now” alongside the video on X (formerly Twitter) before deleting it.
McGregor hasn’t fought since breaking his leg in July 2021. Despite his excitement about returning, White recently said the Irish star might not be back until late 2025.
“He’s going to fight in 2025, probably at the end of the year. If it’s earlier, that’s good for us,” White said.
This clashes with McGregor’s earlier statement that he plans to return in February 2024 in Saudi Arabia. Fans are still waiting for confirmation on McGregor’s comeback, but for now, it’s uncertain when or if he’ll fight again. Source
