Dwight Howard is ready for an NBA comeback. After being eliminated from Dancing With the Stars just two days ago, the 38-year-old made a pitch to join the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Howard, who last played in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2021-22 season, has been playing in Taiwan’s T1 League. Now, he says he’s ready to return and help the Thunder while star center Chet Holmgren recovers from a hip injury. Holmgren is expected to miss 8-10 weeks.

“OKC, ya boy is ready,” Howard said on KG Certified. “Y’all need a big. Y’all need a vet. I’ve got energy and nothing else to do after dancing. … I’d go to OKC right now. Two-year [deal], let me finish out. We get y’all a championship, maybe another one.”

Howard also reminded fans that he won an NBA title with Alex Caruso in 2020, who now plays for the Thunder. Oklahoma City is seen as a strong contender this season, and Howard believes he could help them win a championship.

With Holmgren out, the Thunder’s starting frontcourt includes Luguentz Dort, Isaiah Joe, and Jalen Williams. Williams has been impressive so far, averaging 20.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game. Howard’s experience could be a boost for the team, but it remains to be seen if the Thunder will take him up on his offer. Source
