Floyd Mayweather says he got a $4 million bonus after his rival Manny Pacquiao made a costly mistake. This goes back to their legendary 2015 boxing match, which set records with 4.6 million pay-per-view buys and brought in huge paychecks for both fighters. Mayweather reportedly earned $180 million, while Pacquiao made $120 million.

Years after their fight, rumors about a rematch began to swirl. Pacquiao even hinted at it publicly, stepping into a Japanese ring to suggest the match was close. But Mayweather was quick to say Pacquiao's comments were out of line.

“He shouldn’t have said my name,” Mayweather told The Pivot Podcast. According to him, mentioning the rematch talks got him an unexpected $4 million payout. “There’s a time and place for everything,” Mayweather said, reminding fans he was the undisputed winner in their 2015 face-off.

While a rematch hasn’t happened, both fighters have stayed active in exhibitions. Mayweather has faced off with fighters like John Gotti III, and Pacquiao recently took on Rukiya Anpo. However, there’s still talk of a second showdown. Japanese promoter Nobuyuki Sakakibara has said it might still be possible if all the timing works out, but only if it doesn’t affect their official records.

For now, though, it looks like both boxing icons are focused on new projects. Fans may still hope for a rematch, but only time will tell if Mayweather and Pacquiao will step into the ring again. Source
