Joe Rogan, UFC commentator and popular podcaster, has shared his thoughts on the highly anticipated fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson. The fight, which aired on November 15 and was watched by 60 million people on Netflix, saw Paul claim victory over the 58-year-old boxing legend in an eight-round decision.
Despite Tyson's loss, Rogan was relieved the former heavyweight champion made it through the fight unharmed. Rogan, a long-time admirer of Tyson, admitted he feared the age and physical differences between the two fighters could result in serious injury for the boxing icon.
Speaking to actor Josh Brolin on The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan said, “I’m happy that Mike got the money and that he didn’t get hurt. That was my fear—that it was a real fight and he’s going to get hurt.”

Tyson, who looked far from his prime in the ring, managed to complete the match without being knocked out. Paul later admitted he “carried” Tyson in the later rounds as the older fighter began to tire. However, Paul's business partner, Nakisa Bidarian, denied rumors the fight was rigged, calling such claims “dumb.”
After the fight, Tyson initially suggested he was ready for more matches and even called out Logan Paul. However, days later, he announced on social media that he would be retiring for good.
In his post on X (formerly Twitter), Tyson reflected on his journey back to the ring after a near-death experience in June that required eight blood transfusions. “To have my children see me stand toe-to-toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age... is an experience no man has the right to ask for. Thank you.”
For Rogan and Tyson’s fans, it seems the fight was a bittersweet farewell to one of boxing’s greatest legends. Source
