Travis Kelce’s Social Media Post Sparks Mixed Reactions After Election

Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce stirred up a reaction online after celebrating his team’s recent win with a post the day after Donald Trump’s election victory.

On Wednesday, Kelce posted several photos on Instagram celebrating the Chiefs’ unbeaten record following their thrilling Monday night overtime win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His caption, "Arrowhead at night," referenced the Chiefs’ home stadium and captured the excitement of the game.

However, the timing of the post didn’t sit well with some fans, who thought it was insensitive, given that it came a day after former President Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris. “Feel like maybe this could have been rescheduled,” one fan commented. Others chimed in with, “Read the room, Travis,” and “Not right now, we’re mourning.”

But Kelce’s fans weren’t all critical. Some jumped to his defense, arguing that it’s his page, and he should be able to celebrate his team’s success without political overtones. “This is a football player’s page, not a political page,” one fan wrote. “There are enough places on social media to talk about politics.”

Adding to the debate was the fact that Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, had openly endorsed Harris in the election. Swift had even been expected to attend a Harris rally but instead was spotted at the Chiefs game on Monday.

For now, Kelce’s Instagram post remains up, and fans continue to share mixed reactions. Source: Fox News
