UFC light-heavyweight champion Alex Pereira surprised fans during his trip to Korea by dominating a bodybuilder in an arm wrestling match. The viral moment happened during a gym session with Kim Kang Min, a popular bodybuilder and influencer known from the reality show Physical 100.
Pereira, who recently defended his title three times in seven months, has been enjoying a well-earned break in Asia. His adventures have included sightseeing, meeting fans, and trying new challenges. One of those challenges was arm wrestling the 209-pound Kim, who led Pereira through a series of workouts before the showdown.
Kim, curious about how he’d stack up against the champion, said through a translator, “I’ll see if I’m strong enough to compete.” Pereira, speaking in Portuguese, replied humbly, “I’m strong when competing, but weak when lifting weights.”

When they faced off, it quickly became clear that Pereira had the upper hand. While Kim strained and sweated, Pereira looked calm and collected. The pair eventually called it a draw at Pereira’s suggestion, and they moved on to other exercises, ending the session with laughs and signature poses.
The video sparked discussions online, with fans pointing out the difference between fighting strength and bodybuilding muscles. One fan commented, “Alex has true power. The bodybuilder has show muscles.” Another joked, “Pereira gave that bodybuilder a physics lesson—muscles don’t mean much against a human forklift!”
Many agreed that Pereira’s lean, dense muscles are built for combat, while bodybuilders focus more on appearance.
The trip to Korea marks a relaxing change of pace for Pereira after an intense year in the octagon. He fought three times in 2024, defeating Jamahal Hill, Jiri Prochazka, and Khalil Rountree Jr.
Fans have also enjoyed other clips from his travels, including Pereira leg-kicking a fan and exploring various Korean landmarks. For now, Pereira is soaking up his time away from the octagon, but his fighting strength remains unmatched—even in arm wrestling. Source
